It's probably become obvious by now that I listen to Ravi Zacharias a lot. And I'm not about to stop, but I do have one complaint. I really really don't like the bookends of every audio podcast. It really detracts from the message as a whole for me because it is 100% Christian Radio, which I've never liked. I know it's supposed to set up the message and let the listeners in on what they're supposed to get from it. But it's annoying and usually not entirely accurate, or dumbs down the message so much with some epithet that it almost detracts from the message as a whole. The ending summary is just as bad. Luckily since I listen to it on the internet I can just fast forward or end it early. I can understand the beginning, but I really hate it at the end. Mostly because Ravi is quite capable of ending his message on his own, and a thousand times better than whoever is trying to dumb it down to a single statement at the end.
The dumbing down is my biggest problem with the bookends. Ravi is brilliant, persuasive, and easy to listen to. The other stuff isn't and has he aftertaste of tin can Christianity which is so prevalent everywhere in the evangelical world. To me it almost seems like a disservice to Ravi's messages. I just worry that those non Christians who I recommend the podcast will be put off from listening because of the intro's and outro's.
But that's just me, and I'm obviously not going to stop listening.
