Check out who's number two on the list.
My number 3 all time favorite comedian!
Right behind Gilda and Madeline. Tied with her comedy partner of course.
Another reason she kicks ass.

War Post
Potrero War was unbelievably fun. The weather was perfect, the site was beautiful, and I fought really well. I had a blast. I think it was the most fun I've had in the SCA so far. So much better than Estrella. I'm really getting the hang of line fighting and it's a lot of fun.
Potrero is way down south and east of San Diego in the boonies. The shade was lovely and with the breeze kept the temperatures just right. I took Friday to prepare myself to fight on Saturday. For some reason eating has not been my main priority lately and I almost bought it when I was helping house Valentine set up camp. Friday I shot my recurve bow for the first time in competition and didn't miss the target once! Sweet! New Arrows too. James is letting me borrow some of his. As for throwing knives. I either hit the red or can't hit the broad side of a barn.
Saturday was one long day of AWESOME! I had so much fun it's ridiculous. I much prefer small wars to large wars. The fields are smaller and there is a lot more action. I can hardly wait until the next fight.
And my new tent was the bomb. just the right size.
Spent all my refund check at war. Bought a basket and a beautiful knife.

My Captain
We were in a Resurrection Battle
amongst the shade and bales of hay
I saw my Fret Knot Captain go down
to his knee with a spear to his chest.
when the Marshal called hold.
He was out there alone and legged
I could not let my Captain lay
between the walls of shields alone.
I gave my shield and my life,
that my Fret Knot Captain be spared.

Wrap Party
Had a lot of fun. Drank a little (truely). Sang a couple of songs (extremely poorly). Talked a lot. Came home. Slept.
Great great day overall.

Screening
The screening for the first film I worked on as a script supervisor is in a couple of hours. Going to go check it out just as a matter of course. Besides I want to see how this one turned out. Its the 1920's vampire flick. Should be good. Here's hoping that I did a good enough job...

OH Neglect
My sorry blog how I miss thee. I am poor and unwise and lazy. I should fill thee with the thoughts that fill my days or the lack there of, but alas I am a fleeting sort who tarries not so much at the shore of the great expanse that is the ocean of the internet.
and I want to blow shit up on my xbox

High School
Its weird. Weirder now that ever. Old friends from high school are friending me on facebook. Now I have nothing wrong with that. The weird thing is that I've been kept at a mentally younger age than most of my high school counterparts by going to college for a freaking long time. It also helps that I dress like a college kid and do mostly those sort of activities. I could still probably pass for early twenties easily. We had these ideas about the future when we were in high school. About who we wanted to be and how we saw the world. And each of our visions were molded by our parents and the town we grew up in. And the way it was then isn't the way it is now although the people are still exactly the same.
Teenagers today struggle with the same things I did when I was a teen. And I remember that. My teen experience was quite unusual. I lived in a bubble of innocence that I was unaware of and I have now emerged from without bursting. Not many escape the small town christian midwest upbringing and survive college without either their purity bubble bursting and them throwing away every thing they once held close for something more "intellectual," "politically correct," or "liberating." Either that or they totally wrapping themselves in insubstantial religious/bland/middle class/american dream and perpetuate the lie that is killing Faith and the USA

Hot
It's hot. I don't have a lot to say. I took my watch off. Time is very weird right now. It's kinda funny working on a 11th century dress after coming off of a modern day shoot. Right before that I worked on a 1920's vampire flick. I'm meeting a chick at afi about her show tomorrow.
Life is interesting.
Here's hoping that I'll get paid eventually.

Days of Rest?
Yeah right.
I get two days off before the last day of shooting and proceed to stay up half the night. I'm going to have to go to bed at 9 just to catch back up on my sleep.
Smart. Reallly smart.
Oh and I'm putting my lip through a quick bootcamp this week because I'm playing my trumpet this Saturday and Sunday for the Altavia Investiture. I need to work out a bunch of little trills and one or two thirty second mideival sounding fanfares.
I'm psyched let's just hope my lip can get back into good enough shape in the next 4 days.

Busy
The thing about this industry is that when you have a job all you have time to do is work and sleep.
Which means I haven't had time for blogging...or Mercator. :(
Only days until I get a break though.
One of the most annoying things about working on a student set is the fact that it takes 2 hours to set up the first shot. It has to be perfect. But the last shot? They scramble around like maniacs set up 4 shots in 10 minutes and often they're unuseable.
And one of the best things about being a scripty is that I don't have to lug heavy equipment. I'm typically a helpful person, but I have nothing really invested in these films. And I'm not getting paid enough ($0) to stick around and lug heavy things. Basically I do my job and jet. If I were working with people I know I'd help. But I'm not...
