When I chose my name for the SCA I didn't really give much thought to the fact that it is the name of the warrior chick in Völsunga saga also known as the Nibelung Cycle that Wagner adapted to Opera.
I was more interested in keeping Bryn. I originally wanted Brynja, but it's not "historical," or some such bull.
But it fits really well.
Why?
Because my persona can be a Shield Maiden without having to lie.
